pete76
After 6 years of being boatless, i finally got myself a new boat in late july. I repowered it with a new D6 did the bits'n'pieces and finally on the water! Looking desperately on this forum to see where the fish are these days, i was disappointed to hear the fishings been a bit quiet. Anyway its been 3 weeks and ive clocked 46 hours on the new motor! Here's the result.... Thu 11/10--Long reef wide, very quiet 4 legal sized Snapper/Trevally on pillies Thu 18/10--Trolled South Head for 1 salmon 60cm, 1 trevally, 4 tailor all on CD7's Wed 24/10--SOuth head all the way to Maroubra! for zilch, on the way back we got a nice salmon 55cm at Nth bondi, back to middle head for 2 tailor and 1 trevallly, all on CD7's Thu 25/10--Trolled south head for zilch(big swell) back to Nth head zero again, then middle head for 3 tailor, barely legal again all on CD7's We did spend last weekend cruising to hawksbury with freinds, managed to troll half way up before they started whinging that we're going to slow but no fish! Anyway, ive learnt alot from the posters on this forum, hope i can give back to the readers bit more fruitful info in the future. Can't wait for the marlin!! erroll
Welcome to the site and congrats on the new rig. Very nice looking. You might have to keep a few salmon as skip baits judging by the profile of your new toy. I was out for a couple of hours on Sunday afternoon and pulled in 3 rat kings drifting livies around north head. Hopefully the bigger versions are not far away. Cheers Erroll

I need to get better results for 40hrs of trolling! i worked out if i keep up the this pace ill do 600hrs first yr and 30 odd salmon lol!!

pete76
What's she like on fuel ? i actually got a fuel meter put on with the new engine....setup is a deep v 310se single sterndrive volvo penta d6 370hp duoprop, @4.5 knots troll it uses 2.5l/ph which is nothing on a 31footer, @ 7.5-8knots that goes up to around the 10-11l/ph mark, @cruise which is 20-22knots it uses 45-50L/ph, WOT 26-30 knots depending on weight and seas 75L/ph. She was originally built to survey for gold coast fishing charters and they did a full report on her in the Bluewater magazine back then
waldo60
Wow nice rig brother, I only dream of having a fish from a nice boat like that. Unfortunately with my boat I'm restricted to inside.
nautica
I better stop having a cry about fuel costing me 150 every time I head off shore. Nice boat mate
