Ray R
Hi Raiders, just a quick note to all your rock hoppers, check the swell reports very carefully this weekend as she is gonna be big and nasty. The swell should start to rise Thursday morning according to the forecasts, and being from the ENE she will be pounding the rocks especially Avoca (my home turf.) Will be watching it closely.. Check wave and wind websites..... DON'T TAKE RISKS, HAVE A PLAN B.. Edited February 19, 2013 by Ray R
arpie
I had to bail from my yearly outing to South West Rocks - and looking at the weather that is hitting it ....... I am glad!!! It is bucketing there, with massive winds & rough seas just now! A lot of yakkers are bailing (at least until Sat!) Yep - take care out there!! Roberta If in doubt - DON'T! LungFai
Will be interesting to see the 8ft waves on the surfcam, at present Avoca Beach looks flat and has 2 surfers, wonder how many will be there on Friday and Sat

Yowie
If the beached fishing trawler does not get shifted from Cronulla on Thursday morning, it will get knocked about on the rocks. Edited February 20, 2013 by yowie
Ray R
Wednesday evening and the swell is starting to rise, went for a quick flick for more bonnies this arvo and I reckon it will be my last for a few days, still a lot of fun though, plastic smashing little speedsters..hehehe.. Tomorrrow should see a rise of .5 - 1.0 meter swell increase which will just about knock Avoca out for a fish, make sure you have a plan B if you venture up this way.. Jewhunter
Thanks Ray. Great to have up to date info on a popular spot. Swell is 3.7mtrs on the Tweed bar atm. We're supposed to get 200mm on top of the 100mm we have copped in the last 2 days. We are on flood watch again. Cheers, Grant.
