tasksta Posted February 21, 2013 Share Posted February 21, 2013 Hey all Ill be taking my boat on holidays for the first time on Saturday. The weather report is lots and lots of heavy rain. I always garage my boat and would like to know if it rains as hard as they say will any damage be done? I will remove the sounder and waterproof the connections as well as disconnect the battery. I have two new tyres, new bearings, a spare tyre, bearings, grease anda full hub as well as trolley jack and tools. Geoff Posted February 21, 2013 Share Posted February 21, 2013 If you dont already have one , purchase one of those inexpensive blue or green tarps to cover the boat along with a coil of thin rope & tilt the trailer up so the water can run off. Geoff x2 - i use a tarp to cover boat overnight (just for peace of mind) - keep those opportunistic thieves away who will steal anthing left inside.... also use a trailer lock. Plumb Posted February 22, 2013 Share Posted February 22, 2013 (edited) Generally there a flush point at the top at the tell tail you'll need to un screw it. But it's done without the motor running. DrownNprawns Posted February 22, 2013 Share Posted February 22, 2013 also remember that the longer it is left in the water the more sh,,,,t grows on the hull, a friend left his in for a month and had to re gelcoat the underwater area. not to mention the mechanical repair.
