I usually put my boat in at Tunks park, i have tried around a few spots in middle harbour for yakkas but havent found any just wondering if anyone can recommend some spots to find them in the harbour? Also i have a Lowarance HDS finder, when i get to a 'bait ground' do you normally cruise around trying to sound out the bait or do you anchor up and burley until they come? One issue i had was with the burley when the tide is running you cant keep the burley near you it just goes straight down or upstream. Any tips would be great cheers. fisholb Posted September 10, 2013 Share Posted September 10, 2013 Yakkas r not always at d ramp...best times around sunrise/sunset...sometimes I catch them around midday. ..same case with clifton/balmoral...I use chicken/pillys/prawns/mince/bread for bait...small float n size 10/12 hook...I use bread for burley... quochuy Posted September 10, 2013 Share Posted September 10, 2013 For the minced beef you need to roll them in tiny peas, put on the hook, roll some more to wrap the beef around the hook. Ive tried it a few times and it comes off way too easily in the water.... Mix mince with flour until it sort of sticky...bit messy but it works...I use the food processor...
