mike2153
Hi guys Just wondering what is the go with all the rats in the harbour at the moment, I've caught quite a few now and all are just under sized and everyone I talk to are all getting rats, does this happen each year or should the hoodlums be a bit thicker in the harbour by now? Also where are the bonito? Didn't someone tell tem it's January already?

Scratchie
Hey mike, there's no bonito up at port either! The water is a bit cold ATM. Have caught the odd one or two but they are not prolific as last year! This is maybe why we aren't seeing many hoodlums, they love bonito! Where as the rats will pretty much eat anything. Just my opinion! Cheers scratchie!!!
Yowie
Along the coast there have been north-east winds blowing fairly strongly for a few days now. Those winds push some cooler water up from the depths and blow this cooler water onto the coast. The warm water is still sitting a few kms off the coast. A few days of southerlies may change that. With all the rats about, hopefully they will be legal sized ones in a couple of years.
