farizzy Posted May 11, 2014 Posted May 11, 2014 Caught a larger one of these at the barges over at Scotland island but had no camera. Got this one at Camaray on a plastic almost the same size at it. Is mouth goes from ear to ear and has a good set of teeth as well. Coming from Vic ive never caught one but im sure a few of you have. Any info would be great.

0 Linc Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 Yeah we definitely don't have those down in Vic, they were new to me since moving up here as well. Didn't know they were good live bait, thanks for that Scratchie, would have to be a fearless predator to have a go at eating something with a mouth like that!
0 farizzy Posted May 12, 2014 Author Posted May 12, 2014 Ill keep that in mind to, Couldn't get a yacca anywhere, and had some rat kings surfacing at northbridge while I was fishing for bream on the yak. There was a school of white bait on the surface shimmering, so I paddled over it with the sounder and got some big marks. Dropped down some plastics but no good.

0 Scratchie Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 I've used them in the bay for livies to catch Jew! Have caught two with them as I couldn't get any other livies so they've worked for me.
