Seal Rocks and surrounds for fishing + NYE?

Trying to find a campsite to spend the new years period and get out of Sydney around then. Anyone have a recommendation for Seal Rocks/Treachery Camp type of area?

Relatively secluded, good beach to fish off, quiet

I've read treachery camp can get pretty rowdy and packed. Not sure if its still true as apparently it changed owners recently.

Yep, sure does get packed. The fishing up seal rocks is amazing that time of year! All the way from port stephens to Forster is packed with tourists.

South West Rocks is fantastic.

yeah they just got back to me saying its booked out til jan 8, looks like ill need to find someplace else! Not sure if south west rocks is too far away for my mates, do you reckon it'd be any quieter than the camp sites more south?

We camped for 10 days at Easter this year at North Coast Holiday Parks Seal Rocks which was great and had plenty of space.

Great fishing all around the area, when the surf was 6-8 ft, the blackfish all sheltered in the beach out the front. Everyone was catching plenty!

What are the chances we won't be able to find a site on the coast if we head up after Xmas?

The camp grounds at SWR are good and usually have a space or two available if you book asap.

nah all taken. I think the only option is to roll the dice and go have a squiz.

It may be less crowded on the south coast vs the north so might try and do that
