aeb870
I was fairly certain they were both diamondfish but on closer inspection they look a little different. Any ideas?
0 Blackfish
Diamondfish also heard them called Mono's (Monodactylus argenteus) pretty common in Sydney but the Batfish, never seen one in Sydney before but anythings possible. Certainly rare I would guess. Edited December 23, 2014 by Blackfish

0 Yowie
Have always called the first one a batfish, caught plenty in Port Hacking, usually more so after heavy rain when the water colours up a bit. The second one is a species of batfish, usually caught further north of NSW.
