0 Blackfish
Well Well Well. I recon thats a Maori Rockcod Epinephelus undulatostriatus. Certainly unusual but I know of a good one taken at the Banks a couple of years ago and another good one up at Long Reef, but still unusual. Good work. Well thats what I recon. 0 Krispy !
Great eating, I still wouldbt recommend keeping something if you dont know what it is as you never know what it could be but in this case its fine dining. Other cases people have ended up in a coffin.

0 Yowie
Let us know what it tastes like. My one and only, caught many years ago in Yowie Bay, was put back as it was only about 30cm long.

In saying that I oven grillef it at the request of the boss . maybe pan fried could be better?

0 elferoz777
Wollongong on the reef. Big brown thing with what looked like blue spots. Very similar if not the same as in the picture above

0 Blackfish
I'm with Yowie. I recon yours, Elferoz, maybe a "Eastern Wirrah". Not known for their eating qualities.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Edited January 6, 2015 by Blackfish
0 elferoz777
After consulting Google images I believe I did eat the wirrah. Funny they look so similar yet taste so different.
