fredflathead
When reading fishing books on where to fish, they say 4 boat lengths out. How do you interpret? My boat is 5.2 m or I could be in a 3m dinghy. Generally I just fish and move about till I get bites. It has alway puzzled me how other people did this. norm
pjbink
If I had to guess I would say it might be 1 boat length is 12 ft or 3.6m, ie the typical estuary fishing tinnie.

Fab1
I think it means "roughly",abit like when they say an arms length, body length etc, everyone's different. You'd be in strife if you had no arms and were a Midget. Cheers.
