mrsswordfisherman
Gratuitous use of the female there in the last one What serious female angler would be fishing in that bikini? I have not seen a guy holding a fish up wearing his speedos on a magazine or post! The Hollywood hold style has been around for a while but it is getting a bit silly

W4z
Flylife? Isn't that a Chinese dish you have with Satay Beef? Tuffy. I ate plenty of strange things when I was in China/SE Asia like crickets, tarantulas, scorpions and cicadas.... But have to say I never saw a scoop of deep fried blow flies for sale. Not to say I didn't eat any over there, just that I didn't know about it Edited September 2, 2015 by W4z
Mike89
I've only been fishing for around 6 months and have bought the magazines a couple of times. They're a good read for a beginner like myself. I think the one I've been getting is Modern Fishing (the one that includes x2 "free" magazines). There are some interesting articles and I like to browse the pictures and see how and when things are being caught, though I can imagine for those more experienced that it's a bit more of the same. There are also some informative stories on fishery management so it's interesting to see what's going on with fish stocks and commercial licensing etc. I'm gonna drop by the newsagent now and see what they have.. rockfisherman
Fishing magazines are a bit like porn. Get excited looking at them. Harry
Matt
I always get Fishlife and Freshwater Fishing mags still, occasionally get one of the others when in the mood. As much as I rely on the internet, forums etc for info I am old school and nothing beats relaxing on the couch at home or in a deck chair camping with a coldie or red wine and a bit of fish porn to read through. Yes, the articles tend to be repetitive and the advertising overbearing but for some reason I just like flicking the pages and reading. stevefish
I read Bluewater and like it because of the depth of the articles, I had a gift subscription to fishing world, oh the agony. The answer to everything is to buy more product. When my father bought his boat we bought trailerboat fishermen for many years but that was a long time ago. SgtBundy
My mate at work gets fishing monthly I think - usually reads it then throws it my way to read as well. I found it to just always say the same thing - every where is biting, there is always fish around and usually they were talking about last month. I get they are promoting the various areas but it usually just was the same thing each month. Dad also regularly picks some up so I have a flick through them but mostly just looking at the catches - I found most of the articles already said the same things I had read or watched on TV before, but usually doing so flogging a new lure or something.
