Yowie
Headed out early this morning up from Lilli Pilli. Picked up the tailor and smaller reddie on fish strips, and a squid grabbed one of the baits. It let go and disappeared, so I lobbed out a jig a few times and on one of the casts the squid grabbed the jig as it was sinking and hooked itself. I cut off one of the big tentacles for bait and the larger reddie grabbed it. Also a few about just under size. The jackets were taken on small squid pieces (from a frozen squid). Also released some jackets as they were too small.

JohnDory
If you keep catching jackets in those quantities you'll have to open open a clothing store. Well done Dave

Yowie
Thanks guys. My fingers are a bit rough after skinning the jackets. Could probably use the skins for sandpaper rather than buying any.
Welster
That's good going getting a 40cm reddie from the hacking, well maybe not for you but I'd be stoked! Well done again.

Happy enough with the reddie, a feed for 2, and a nice eating size. Edited May 30, 2016 by yowie

I visited Lord Howe Island on 2 occasions many years ago, and the kingies over there taste much better than the kings here.
