Stapo
A mate of mine launched his new boat today. I've seen this on you tube but never thought I'd see it in person. Anyway he's not the first to do it and won't be the last. Poor Marvin.
Ric001
Instant write off. I've seen a few guys come close but not where it has to be towed out. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Cargo05
He would have been less than happy. Like Ric001 said an instant rightoff. Would take the gloss of the new boat. I live in fear of doing the same thing.

Stapo
He was lucky a couple of council boys were passing and they had a winch on their vehicle. He rang insurance company and yes they right off because of the salt water. They arranged a tow truck. The boat looked good tied up to the jetty. The Incredible Hull
Is that car an automatic? It looks like it from the pic of the inside. I don't get how can an automatic car roll down, if you had it in Park, even with hand brake off. If its in Park gear it won't budge.

Maybe the trailer pulled in if it went over the back of the ramp. Council cleaned it up today Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
The Incredible Hull
Ah right, yep that does make sense. That sort of thing will generally happen when its low tide. Low tide means the lower part of the ramp is exposed with moss, very slippery you can't even stand on 2 feet. And to add to that, some ramps don't go all the way down on low tide, instead just drops off maybe a few inches into the sand. Yer mate I always avoid low tide when launching and retrieving. Poor fella wish him the best of luck.

antonywardle
I was speaking with Marvin last night. He said that he found two tiny fish on the passengers seat too. Very slippery weed. It slipped after he put the brakes on. It kept on going and he didn't have any time to put it in first and try and drive out.
rippinlips
Hope the boat was under towing weight for his car...insurance companies will look for any way to avoid to pay!!
harold
Wonder what the insurance company does with such a new car that is written by immersion in salt water?
