Rafo
Hi guys, during the last days I am struggling to get yakkas and tailor in pittwater. I have been trying from many of the wharves with no luck. All I get is lots of bream, leather jacket or whiting. If you can give me some suggestions will be highly appreciated. Best, R
Brew
G'day Rafo, Are you in a boat? If so, try West Head in front of the bunkers. Tailor are at Flint and Steel or around Lion Island. If not in a boat you can walk down the track to Flint and Steel however it takes about 40 mins and you need to pay a park entry. Good luck
Rafo
Thanks Brew! I know flint and steel. Shall I try in the small beach? From the sand?
Brew
Off the rocks is best next to the pole marker. Try early before the boat traffic gets too busy.
mii11x
you say yakkas and tailor, so I am assuming your after bait..........just a reminder that tailor have to be legal size (30cm) to be used as bait, using undersized tailor for anything is a no no
Rafo
Thanks again Brew! I went to shark point today and spent lots of time there...finally I got a tailor but only one :-/ apart from that I got tons of bream but released them all. Tomo will try Flint & Steel point - hopefully will have more luck best, R P.S. Thanks mii11x - don't worry I know about legal size
eastwood1980
Sounds like your sinking your bait that's why your getting whiting bream and jackets. try to have the bait mid way where the yakkas and tailors hang around
Rafo
Thank you very much eastwood1980! Brew also suggested that! and yesterday I tried a float rig and I got a snook (50cm). Not yet lucky with tailor but will keep trying Best, R
