Hi All

I have noticed some rust on the trailer and was wondering what others do to maintain their trailers ?

is there any DIY maintenance i can do at home, is there a regular checklist anyone has that i can follow ?

any advice would be appreciated

The best time to have a trailer rust prevention program in place is when the trailer is new.

The rust your seeing is only the tip of the iceberg if it's in the frame.A bit like cockroaches you only see a small %.

People use all sorts of things like fish oil, tectyl 506,lanolin etc.

I use a mix of parrafin wax, linseed oil and turps on things I want help rustproofing like the undercarriage of my cars.

On my trailer I use the above combined with the trailer wash system I made for that added protection.

cheers.

I use Tectyl. Spray it on whenever I see a bit of rust and use a brush to smooth it out. It seems to work well.
