Psycho fisho
Hi guys looking for some advice has anyone had any experience with the shimano revolution 1062 t-curve 4-8kg or the shimano catana 4-7kg 1062 rod? What would be a good reel to match one of those rods? I would mainly be targeting tailor and big salmon. Thanks
Aardvarking
I haven't tried that specific t curve model, but my favourite rod is a shimano T-curve, they are great for casting and excellent rods from my experience. The reel you need depends on the sort of fishing you would be doing. Lures or bait, boat, wharf, beach, rock, kayak ect.
Psycho fisho
Both lures and bait mainly rocks and beaches
Houdini
I've got the 9 foot RVLI902SP and 10 foot RVLC1002SP (this is a heavier rod than you mentioned. rated at 8-15kg) I can't fault either of them never had a catana so can't comment if you can afford the t curve get it what reel and line will you use with it if you're casting metals more than baits maybe consider a 9 foot rod (unless you defo need the 10)

GreasePit
With your price range, i'd go a 5000 Shimano Nasci. They're as good value for money as you can get out there at the moment. Super smooth with 11kg max drag strength, and if you look in the right place you can find them down from 200 to $130 and then you add an extra 15% off on top of that price. A daiwa 6500 is roughly equivalent to a shimano 20,000. So really they are numbers made by the manufacturers. Not a universal coding also on the rod. If you can stretch your budget. Id would recommend getting the tcurve. As it has a better blank. Fitted with a fuji reel seat and fuji kguides. A whole different rod if you as me

But then a c5000 shimano is just a larger spool for more line capacity on a 4000 body Edited August 4, 2017 by xerotao
Rob81
I'd say Daiwa 4000 more like Shimano 6000. A daiwa 5000 is somewhere around the Shimano 8-10,000.
