  1. If youre concerned about what fisheries how fisheries will measure, best to just look at the worse outcome you could think of. Each fishery officer is an individual human and may measure things differently from one another. Best to be safe than sorry IMO. If its more for PB, and you decide to push it a little more then youre only cheating yourself.
  2. Yeah we always prefer at least couple cms over. Really depends, if the fish is bang on and you plan on going home straight away it should be fine, but if you plan on being out a while longer then expect the fish to shrink as it loses moisture/liquids/dehydrate.
  3. Its a good thing you didnt. Swell periods high, was about 15secs in the day, 13 at night and a bit higher today. Would be pretty dangerous most rock ledges.
  4. Really depends on budget and reason why you'd want to catch yakkas. If yakkas for bait, they have specific sabiki rods out there, unsure if any good. If you want to fish for them for fun, look up "Aji rods". But a the end of the day, really depends how specific you want to get into them. If you want the 1 setup to cater for bream & squid as well, Id probably look for a squid setup (Egi setup), rather than the yakka (aji) one. Again, depends if you want to get really specific with it all. And if not, any other rod/reel should do it, as long as not heavy setups. Youd want to learn towards more into the "Light" department.
  5. Yeah I heard some people just walked around or through it anyways.
  6. Yeah I just took a look. Its been a number of years since Ive last looked, it appears to have changed. I remember it specifying middle head & a few others not included as it was managed by Sydney council (even though it was a national park) or something along those lines.
  7. I think Ive read its closed down. New fence/gates errected and the chains on the cliff cut, after someone fell and injured/died a couple months back. Its proabably best shown the way by someone know the ledge, rather than go and explore based on directions given, type of ledge.
  8. National parks pass wont cover that area. Covers nsw excluding about 3 or 4 parks, which are located in the city areas. Usefull for all other places. Also, if you do it when you renew your rego, its cheaper. Was like $50 or something off memory. That is the nsw multipass excluding kosi
  9. yeah that could be it. Link actually didnt work for me, but it could be due to me using work computer.
  10. I think the problem with location names being lost these days are more due to people not willing or wanting to do the homework. Most ledges can be found with a bit of google researching. There are many articles and forums (mainly this one) that actually show you the places and their names, even how to get there. But just as a head start, there is a map somewhere in this forum with Sydney ledges. It was actually this forum that I learnt I could actually make my own google map many many many years back, and thats what got the ball rolling for me to put my own personal one together with all the ledges, "known" names, what its known for and other useful information that I typically look for (eg. terrain, comfortable swell...). This is probably especially good when you forget what some of the ledges are like, as youd wouldnt frequent them as often.
  11. Its probably the illegal spearo killing of Gus that happens almost yearly now thats sparked this. I forget which version of Gus we're up to now.
  12. If possible, do it in a place where theres no carpet on the floor, or ideally a smaller room. That way, when something flies away from some form of spring, you can find that part again. Other then that, practice makes perfect.
  13. At first I was thinking the same thing, "Aught" being "Naught", however, saw these: and
  14. Yeah that manual key is just for the door only. Its odd but the process to start the car was to still use the fob but use it to press the start. Didnt work in the case I was trying to get the car started but issue might just be different. I think its the situation where the fob battery is low rather than have an issue with the car receiver where it would work
  15. I beleive you put the fob on the push button and use that to press onto the button. Something I had recently had to learn as there was no key slot to start the car
