blaxland
I leave it on but depending on the situation may make a difference however the boat seems to scare more than the sounder if get my drift
JonD
If it's a powerful unit in shallow water I believe it will put the fish off. I've scuba dived under transducer where I've felt the pulse, I believe fish are more sensitive than us. In saying that bait fish will sit almost under the transducer with very little concern to it running. In saying that I don't personally turn off my Lowrance unit, mainly because I only do 2-3 drifts over any given mark, also Lowrance units don't seem to need as much power to penetrate the depths.
