Fish I.D Please (Jewfish/ Mulloway)

My son caught this 42cm fish in Cowan Creek (Hawkesbury).  Its been suggested to me that its a baby Jew fish?

I did put it back but would like to confirm what it is in case there is a next time.

Sure looks like a Jewfish, but none of the photos are really good enough to be 100%, but it's my guess.

Have to agree best photo is the one with the towel coving it makes it a bit hard

I recon it is a Jewfish, Convex Caudal (Tail) fin seals it for me.

Spots on the Lateral line to.

It's not the quality of the photos, it's just that they are at an angle or covered by a towel, but that said, it certainly looks like a Jewfish, called a "soapy"  when small.

Pick up a measure sticker from fisheries or most tackle stores, these have all the common species, with size and bag limits for NSW.  And yes totally agree with the comments, soapy, undersized jewfish, mullaway.
