Berleyguts
Just an update on my sounder and live bait tank issues after yesterday’s session. I adjusted the settings on the Humminbird to “Salt Water - deep” (it was in shallow) and turned down the sensitivity. No more depth alarm going off, which is good! It still reads too deep at speed but that’s the transducer flipping up. The modified bait tank intake filled the tank no problem underway but, again, I noticed the pump not working part way through the day and I lost some slimies (yakkas were OK). When I pulled the boat out, I noticed that the strainer was crushed, probably by my boat swinging side on at the beach while I was parking my trailer. Don’t know if this impacted on the pump or not. I’ll test the pump again today. Hopefully it’s not blown. I should get into the habit of turning it off when underway, I guess!
