Bribie Island 1. (Grass Emperor/ Grassy Sweetlip)

G'day fishos. 

We're in Brisbane for the school holidays and I got a little daiwa gshock rod and reel to have some fun with and then got these on Bribie Island. Please advise on species? 

Before people kick off I know there are fish with venomous spines around so I'm careful with critters that I don't know what they are (the guy next to me on the beach got a stone fish on pilchard)

Yep, common old Grassy Sweetlip, the spiked ones you heard about are commonly called a "happy moment" they can inflict quite a bit of pain, the real species is a Black Trevally.
