Pickles
The Kingies in Sydney seem to be tapering off, water temp is dropping (21.9 degrees late last week) so headed up to South West Rocks on the families yearly “Easter sojourn”. First trip outside to the middle grounds off “Grassy” produced some good spotted mackerel, but lots (and lots) of sharks. Mostly small whalers and even a thresher, but there were some big units on heavy game gear, but none of these landed, just too big on 80lb braid and 120lb fluro. Water temp was 24.9 / 25.2, so very warm compared to Sydney. Hopefully the warm current will make it down to Sydney and the summer species (especially kings) will kick back again until winter hits. Going to try for some Jews and Kings in a day or two. Hopefully the sharks will give us a miss.
