Bluespotted Flathead. (Blue Spotted Flathead)

Question

Posted (edited)

Bluespotted Flathead. (Platycephalus caeruleopunctatus)

There has been confusion about Spikey/Longspine Flathead (Previously posted) and Bluespotted Flathead so here is a Blue Spotted Flathead.

Note the small Blue Spots

And the Tail, it's totally different to the Spikey Flathead

Hope this helps.

Correct. The tail flag is the best method of I.D., however, still confusing some fishos who don't catch many ocean flatties.

Some blue spots do turn up in deeper water estuaries.
