New Surf rod recommendations

Hi Guys,

• Currently in the market for a new surf rod and ideally would like to spend less than $200 on it. I'm looking for 12ft rod in the 8-12kg range. I've narrowed my options down to the Penn allegiance II, Pen Ally, Ugly stick Bluewater, Ugly stick gold and Daiwa crossfire. I was wondering what would be the best option and if anyone has had any experience with these rods. Feel free to recommend any other rods.

TI’ll back up @wazatherfishermanon this. If you’re looking for a rod primarily for bait fishing, you won’t find better than a Gary Howard and great value for money.

There’s not a lot of info about them on the ‘net, but you can give Gary a call and chat to him about which rod would suit you best and buy directly from him.
