kantong
With about an hour to fill in between picking up the kids, I wandered down to the Georges River off the back of Panania. The task for simple, catch a fish from the shore! Rig: Simple pencil float rig with 6lb braid main line 8lb Flurocarbon with a size 12 hook. Bait: Worms from my worm farm. After getting the float to drift properly, got the first down and it was a decent flathead. I forgot the brag mat so couldn't measure, but she was chunky. Drifted again in a shallower spot and got another flattie. Third drift, and the float goes down after 30 seconds. Drag is screammmming on the old 2500 Symetre. Got busted off a short time later. I didn't have a chance... and I lost my favourite pencil float. By that stage, I decided to pack it in so that I don't forget to pick up the kids. Not bad for a 20-30 minute session. Little_Flatty
Well done. Nothing like an impromptu session fit in between everything else you need to do. With a pencil float and a size 12 hook, a flathead was the last thing I would have expected you to catch! Were you actually targeting something else? Or did you know the flatties were there?
kantong
@Little_Flatty I don't target much. I was expecting a bream or bass. This is my first flattie on this setup and I'll give it another go to make sure it's not a fluke!
Isaac Ct
Nice flattie mate, certainly would’ve given you a run on the small hook. Hopefully more to come. Well done
