R E G I C Y C L E
Report from 17/12 Took the Hobie out for the first time. Destination was Wentworth Falls Lake. Conditions were ok, calm winds and a bit overcast. Launched the yak and headed out into the lake with a mate and dad. First cast my mate gets onto a small reddie. Cruised around trying to locate a school of refin with no success. An hour or so in and some more small reddies landed between dad and my mate, I was copping a lot of "so the fancy fishing kayak can't catch fish!" Finally got a good hit, and straight away knew it was something better than a redfin. Sure enough, a nice healthy 30cm brown trout on the scoreboard. After that I got a few small reddies and the new yak was vindicated đŸ˜„ All in all an enjoyable afternoon, and a successful first voyage. Little_Flatty
Good to see you christened the new yak! I was just there on Monday getting a fly casting lesson. Alas, I had to hurry down from the mountains after the lesson so couldn't have a fish. Will have to leave it for another time.

Green Hornet
Nice to see there’s still fish in there. I used to fish it years ago when I had family living up that way. Good to hear you like the kayak. Outbacks are a great little watercraft.
R E G I C Y C L E
Thanks guys @Green Hornet there's more fish in the lake than ever, unfortunately they are mostly 10-15cm redfin... in plague proportions.

I used to get the odd trout on dry fly around dusk.

About 5 years ago some smart cookie thought it was a good idea to drop redfin in there.
