Sake
Have only very occasionally fished freshwater before but have decided to try and learn as much as I can. Threw a line in yesterday at Bumaroo Ford Campground and pulled out a 35cm Bass and a 28cm Redfin. Today started at Oberon Dam and pulled 9 Redfin out in about 1 hour off the bank at Kellys Lane. Moved to Tarana and threw a line into the Fish River and caught my first rainbow trout. Measured in at 42cm. I can see why people get hooked. What a great couple of days and was really impressed with the number of fishing spots open to the public in the Oberon area. dirvin21
Good work for getting into freshwater The fish in the first photo I'm pretty sure is a macquarie perch, quite a rare capture and protected species
lastworm
Yep looks like a Macquarie perch, I believe they were/are somewhat endangered. Hope it released well.
R E G I C Y C L E
Great report and welcome to the fresh. Definitely a Macquarie Perch in the first pic, no bass up there. Fish river is firing, really healthy trout you got.
