HawkesburyParadise
Hi all I picked up this drop shot minnow below from the bargain bin at my local. Any particular way to rig this? Youtube videos use just a hook but that may be a freshwater thing. bluefin
Its a very nice small baitfish imitation. Forget the Drop Shot part and use it as a normal flick bait. It has no built in action. so you need to give it action by twitching it, flicking it ! Rig it on a jig head as normal. I was out with our local guide mid last year, we were using similar on a 1/8 TT finesse jig head over weed beds and drop offs for Flathead Bream and Tailor. W were using Berkley POWERBAIT® 3” POWER MINNOW. Howard. Edited February 3, 2023 by bluefin 2
Little_Flatty
I've got a stash of the same lure and I have had some success with just a normal size 4 or size 2 jighead. Only issue is that the hook will foul the mylar flashing inside the lure, so you just need to be careful rigging it up. Once it goes onto a hook, it is not coming back off in one piece. Great for flathead and bream. Rigging it dropshot is worth a go, but a story for another day.
Green Hornet
As the others have said, rig and fish it as a normal plastic. Dropshotting can be a very effective way to fish, but as the rig remains fairly static in the water, you must be positive that the fish are there to begin with.
