Marky mark
Took the 10 y.o. boy out for a quick go on the high to run out tide Sunday afternoon looking for luderick or drummer. First spot and I was mucking around when he hooked up and got a bit excited. He gets excited by most things so didn't take much notice till he got it out of the kelp and a nice, fat 36cm harbour bream flopped into the net! We tried a few spots, got a couple of luderick mid-30's and a few more smaller bream. A good feed for all and a happy son! Water getting cold (18 degrees or so) and very clear so shady, weedy spots working best.
noelm
Nothing beats fishing with your kids (or grandkids) and casting into washes keeps them interested.
Yowie
Nice bream for the young bloke. Water is cooling off, the beach swimming confirms that, though slightly warmer on the beach than up river.
big Neil
No wonder he's smiling, that's a cracker of a Bream for anybody to catch. Even more for the first drop. Very well done, bn

Marky mark
Thanks Guys, its amazing how you go from downrigging live squid over offshore reefs for big kings to hurling some Sunblest white sliced at the local wash population but still have fun, the joy of getting the young fella involved is really good.

It’s nice switching things up - and doing it with you son - even better!
