Bait_drifta
Hey guys Looking at getting a new Bimini made up and not sure which material to go with, canvas or this vinyl stuff. Wondering if anyone has had experience with these materials and what the pro’s and con’s of having them on their boat? Cheers.
big Neil
Hi Bait-drifta. Not sure what the common names for the 2 things you mention are. My bimini has a waterproof cover which also acts as a sun shade. My boat cover is also waterproof and fits snugly to the boat. I have seen both of these applications in a non-waterproof woven cloth. My preference is for the waterproof type of material which is similar to the tarps that truckies use... some folks call these a canvas, and others call them a tarp. I think the essential part of a bimini is that it is waterproof. Not sure if my post is helpful or further confusing. Cheers, bn
riveRecon
I have a “breathable acrylic” but condensation settles on the underside more than canvas I think. I think canvas feels a little cooler too judging by my DIY canvas bow tent. Just my view as I do many overnight trips…
