Spot on with those newish 150 Merc's Justjames, there designed as such, that there's no need for valve adjustment.

A friend of mine bought the 150, when they first come out, think it was around 2012-2013, its well out of warrantee now and as he is an engineer of types, now does all his own servicing. It was the first time I had been involved in servicing a 4 stroke, I was quite impressed on it's simplicity in regards to its servicing.

Being absolutely thorough is the key to doing your own for sure..  Great reliable engine you've got there....

We both have the same hulls, and was one of the reasons I decided to go to a 4 stroke  when I eventually changed. In comparison, when we went out tandem, he would chew threw 80-90 litres on a big day out with his 150 Merc 4 stroke on the back, ( Portland Victoria )  mine with a 4 cylinder 2 stroke, was near double the fuel usage. imagine the cost at todays prices of fuel !!!!!
