Depends how much you like the reel, assuming it is a spinning reel!  take off one side plate to check for water, remove spool and pull drag to bits, wash and dry everything then relubricate.

its a cheap $50 reel but i have washed reel and flooded it with silicon based spray in bearings at the moment
