AlbertW
Hey All, After recently catching the vertical jigging bug I've been looking for a proper dedicated outfit. I've had a look in the Australian market as well as JDM through fishing websites. The main reel that I've had my eye on has been the Daiwa Lexa TW 300 or 400. I've never owned any daiwa reels or rods before but from mates I've heard that they have some pretty dodgy baitcasters. The shimano grappler 300 is the other close contender. The JDM reels look very specialised, with many having line and speed counters (not electric reels, just normal baitcasters with a screen) as well as fall levers, for only around 2-300 bucks. However they usually only come in the small 150 size or don't fit the specifications for offshore jigging. I'm open to any suggestions but am just looking for an all rounder that I can use for various purposes. (Which is why I don't want an overhead) Cheers, Albert

campr
I recently purchased a Lexa 300 and am amazed at the power of such a tiny reel. I have tried a bit of slow pitch without success, but have had fun using it with bait. 75cm king, 1 metre bronze waler and 90cm jew all good fun on such a small outfit. Ron Niceeee, you'll figure out the slow pitch sooner or later haha. Did you pair it with a specialised jigging rod? I was looking at a couple options like the daiwa spartan SJ or one of the shimano type js
campr
I matched it with an Ocean Legacy PE2 slow pitch rod and 2.5PE braid. Ron
