  1. Last week on friday, my dad taught me how to smoke Atlantic Salmon. Ill give you some tips and some pictures. My Dad Recommends using fruit tree wood for the smoking, he personally uses Plum Tree Wood to smoke We usually do it in a batch of 6 though, so not sure if its the same with 1 Salmon We also would put the fish in around 4-5PM, and take it out 8-9AM next day [1]Firstly you'll sprinkle salt onto the salmon itself, inside and out. [2]Then in the smoker, heat it up to around 60, then put the Salmon in [3]Try get the smoker to around 30-40 Degrees [4]My dad would usually keep it in for around 16 Hours, and 30-40 Degrees, though over time it will get cooler [5]Take the salmon out 16 hours later. Note that these salmon at 3-4KG in weight, so it may be different for different for other Salmon And the result Hope this help you all Luke1

  6. Hey Fishraiders. Hopefully this weekend will be heading up to wet a line with my old man, because i havn't been fishing for over 4 months now due to school and assignments. All i want to know is where the fish are going off, just LB areas, preferably Hawkesbury/Pittwater area, doesnt bother me what sort of species, though i'd like to go maybe for the daytime jewie, or bream, flatties, tailor, or just what evers out at the time, this would help me a lot. Thanks Luke1

  9. haha, thats some great jewies you got there, you got heaps. And i havn't even caught one, and you've got like 10 in one month, haha, nice work mate.
  10. I agree aswell, i myself have witnessed people littering on the wharf, just making it look terrible, and like you said, prawns laying everywhere, and then i also sometimes may see people throwing cans of beer into the water as if its no big deal, but it just ruins the whole waterway, and it disgusts me to see such nice things, being ruined by ignorant people that dont care. -Luke
  11. nice report mate, good catch of bream and nice flathead, good work.
  12. haha, yea thats the guy im pretty sure, i use to watch his shows, but just got insanely bored, on his tone of voice, just doesnt make fishing sound exciting to me. but wouldn't mind seeing some footage of the kingies on the kayaks.
  13. yea i watched this, pretty cool footage, and like you said chris, amazing how he got that sail fish in his hand, amazing how small they once were and just how big to billfish can get within a couple of years. i want some more shows like this on some other fish. like estuary fish, give some recreational anglers some learning time on how to battle these fish. would be interesting to see some more, would preferebly like Aussie based fish, but doesnt bother me.
  14. Top report, and TOP BLOODY BREAM, bloody thumpers mate, good on ya.
  15. nice first marlin mate, you must've been over the moon when you saw that thing. Congratulations.

  20. Hey mate. Stocktons a good place for beach fishing, never been for aussie salmon though, but i've heard for salmon high speed spinning is pretty good up there, usually on a 65g Knight Jig or even a 40g Knight, and you might even get the odd jewie on some of the lures up there. hope the wheathers good for you mate. have a good day if you go -Luke1
