So guys after a horrible first day out on the water with the new boat I am now stuck with fixing some issues with the motor . Before I took the boat out that day I replaced the plugs started it up and ran it on numerous occasions the motor didnt have an issue started first go everytime but it seems now it's running horrible and won't idle down low after the trip out we did notice a hole in the cylinder had which has now been replaced with new gaskets and cylinder head cover but the motor still seems to be acting strange dropping cylinders down low but seems to be ok when the rpm is up high I really have no idea what this could be note I didn't replace the fuel in the tank I just filled it up which could be my undoing not knowing how old it was but as I said idled fine when was on the old fuel Any ideas what this could be ?

Thanks for the help I removed the silicon just before and found a bolt with was bolted directly into the fibreglass not really sure why they have done this :/ .... Yeh I think I'm gonna put another bung plug housing in and see how we go I really don't understand why there was a bolt in there here's a some photos

Hey guys well just need some advice on this situation with the bug plugs basically it used to have 2 of them now it looks like it's been sealed up with silicon which is the one closer to the bottom the other one is a bit higher is open like normal what do u think I should do ? Remove the silicon and add a new one or leave it closed ?the people who owned it before me said the floor has been redone so I'm not sure what to think of it I'll post up some photos tomorrow

Not to sure what that is test lab but the wiring for the 2 batteries in the new boat is positive to positive and negative to negative then from one battery joins to the switch

hey guys well as in previous posts i have listed that i bought a another boat now the issue i have is im used to my old boat set up which has a dual battery set up with a switch that allows me to switch them of off both or 1 or 2 ...... where as the new boat has 2 batteries also but looks like it has a master switch (does not alow to swtich between the 2) im not sure which is better and was wondering if i should change over to the dual battery switch?

hey thanks for all the help much appreciated check all the stuff u guys mentioned went over it for about and hour looked under the hull iside and outside messed around with the motor and transom got a bright led torch and was lookin in all the dark spots had a screww driver and pressed into anywhere that looked soft lol i think the poor guy was horrified haha but all seemed to be good

hey guys yeh checked all the stuff like terminals and what not no leaks or anything like that its a johnson 70 hp 85 model been rebuilt about 2 years ago ....

hey guys well i have a slight dilema yesterday i started the motor up after a few weeks it ran fine so i let it run for a few mins then shut it off all was well ..... later in the evening i was talking to my father about it i said it was running great i tried to fire it up again it coughed and spluttered then all of a sudden it wouldnt crank at all when i tured the key nothing happend at all as i didnt have time yesterday to have a look at it i left it for the night anyways i walked out this morning to give it a start sure enough it ran perfect then it started to idle a bit funny and stalled i started it again was running ok but yeh i cant quiet put my finger on what it could be any idea? i thought maybe the relays need to be replaced as the plugs and leads are all new ? any help would be greatly appreciated

how much current do the 3528s use? i have about 2 meters of them inside my boat?

hey mate i have a johnson motor about a 90 model i find sometimes i have to clean the thermostat as they seem to get a bit dirty even though i flush it all the time also sometimes i give it a small rev to get it flowing usually works a treat had the bout for 5 years have changed the impella about once a year and never had a drama with it at all also about ur hull i find them great as i have a seafarer venus hope that helps cheers jay if u need any more info give me a call 0425 459 359

hey mate i get out that way a bit usually a few flat head around always good to have fresh prawns and squid soft plastics usually work for some decent taylor (if there still around) or hard bodies fish the little bays

hey guys thanks for all the advice ended up being a good day lots of taylor 35 cm plus on hardbody lures and sps worked out great plenty of taylor smashing the surface as for the ramp it was pretty good thanks for the help with that also cheers
