This is what happens when I dont go fishing , I think too much ! I will try it out soon. I had thought of it spinning. Ah its worth a try. Must be a reason others aren't doing it. Could only be retrieved in short hops !

The whole idea is to work it backwards so the tail flicks down like a fleeing prawn ?
-
Yes Chin Lock. Having the hook eye in front of the tail allows the tail free movement to "flick", Im Flicking the prawn backwards.

I posted a video ages ago on how prawns swim forward, and how realistic the Holt swim prawn is at mimicking this.
But a fleeing prawn Flicks backwards! How do we mimic that ?
I tried a hidden weight hook, Possible. but the hook I had was too small for the 3" prawn. Z man prawn.

I fish mainly for flathead. They are interesting, they have moods ! I often wonder if it depends on how full they are ? They often land on the lure, to slow it down ? then engulf it when it moves, Sometimes getting hooked under the jaw. ( hardbody trebles). 78 cm on 3 lb line this way for me ! How many times do they spit it out ? Playing with it. Smaller lures help. I have never used a stinger. I find them fascinating! Nothing better on the table ! My opinion.

Its a very nice small baitfish imitation. Forget the Drop Shot part and use it as a normal flick bait. It has no built in action. so you need to give it action by twitching it, flicking it ! Rig it on a jig head as normal. I was out with our local guide mid last year, we were using similar on a 1/8 TT finesse jig head over weed beds and drop offs for Flathead Bream and Tailor. W were using Berkley POWERBAIT® 3” POWER MINNOW.

Imagine taking one of these out but instead of putting it on your jig head, licking it and eating it in front of your mates !!

Kids fishing comp today. Really good day. Loghan made some friends, everyone was so courteous and friendly. Which was a blessing considering we were confined to a certain area to fish and all the crossed lines.

The painted Jig head. A while ago I had 3 board grand children. So I got them to colour code my Jig heads with nail polish. Instantly know what Im using. I liked it so have continued doing it !

I have used them a lot! Saltwater Yabby I love on the flats ! Green over the weeds. Those flippers work all the time, Even paused in the current. Have accounted for a lot of fish this year !

Na, I want the tail free to flick under the lure like a prawn flicking not swimming.
