  1. You are right . I wish I didnt keep hearing your reports . I am doing renovations & have put the boat away so not to temp me with these stories . You guys are really having a top season with the kings .Goes to show you need to spend the time & effort to get those bloody squid . I hate that as they are so fickle . Top effort. They love that area at 13.7 m. Sounds like you hit the jackpot with that reef you have found . Good luck to you .

  2. I would have used the Morwong for bait & eaten the Bonito. They are one of the nicest fish either raw or fillets on the bbq with olive oil , salt & pepper.

At least you got out . Ive just started rennos on the house with 12 weeks until the baby is due . I am getting jealous of anyone who is out at the moment .

  3. We got out & picked up yakkas in the bay before rocketing out to the second FAD for my son who has been at me this year to get a dolly. As we got to pitt street or commonly known as the Wide BB Fad I had no steering. The cable tooth when the boat was going straight broke with no warning. I had to stand at the back of the boat for rest of the day to do the minor turns of the outboard to keep on course. We only stayed for an hour with I dont think I saw anyone with a keeper. My son was happy to have a 500mm dolly grab his 150mm yakka & secure another first. It is great as it was prefect weather to get him out there. We left as soon as the spearers came in . I thought that one boat was going to run them down . There is not a lot of love between them once they get in the water right on top of the fad & scare everything off. We managed to get back & I logged in with coastguard on the way out . they gave me a call on the mobile to check on me & when I told them I had a bit of trouble they showed concern & let me know they had a boat out on the water but told them it wasnt needed . When I logged off back in the bay they said they were trying to call on mobile when I radioed in . It is a great thing they do for us . To top it off we picked up a couple of bonnies on diver at the heads for dinner.

  4. Great surprize there. still waiting to get one off those to stay hooked .Is the lure in the photo a sprocket Lumo . If so they seem to get a lot of action on this site. It might be time to invest as they cost a few bickies to buy but seem well worth it . Did you get into any dollies as its nearly time .

  5. A great afternoon & evening with the family. We were out on the bay at 330pm & straight out the heads & turned north to troll some bibbed & skirts. It has been quiet for the kids of late with the bonito . My 10yo was first on a bibbed which I took as rat which woke him up quickly as they didnt take any tablets & it was sloppy. He wasnt quick enough & the hooks didnt take . The next the same with the 8yo he did the same giving it to much slack & lost it. I took the next a a kingfish pink jet head & pulled in a little 60cm model . The fight was on with boys to put it back . We turned around at little bay & came back . The same halco gold went off every couple of minutes & finally the boys were back onto bonito everywhere. We quickly pulled in 3 & headed in at 530pm to find a spot for the fireworks.

It was quite cool at brighton & we anchored up & waited for the 9pm fireworks . They didnt disappoint with the spectacular right in frot of us with plenty of room, eating smoked salmon. They outlasted the fireworks in the harbour & went for 17mins . I am glad that i didnt have to pay for it out of my rates . Sorry for all in rockdale council. No photos as my canon stuffed up . Does anyone have one of those water proof cameras that the guys have been posting on youtube . I think it is a GOPRO or some thing like that as I wont repair as it is cheaper thease days to but new. Last time the $900 canon was $350 to repair & I saw the same new for $300 . Happy New Year. Adam

  6. Thanks all . I just installed my new Elite 5 . What a difference from a 1993 rayeon Gps & no unsighty pick up . Great resolution & a bonus is the fads already loaded onto the navtronics map. I had the local in Blakehurst price match & picked it up for a decent price. I love this forum & fishraider for the help you can get . Adam

  7. I got my dunbier for my 530f a couple of years ago & searched the net & ended up speaking to a dealer from Qld who I brought it off & picked it up from Minto at their wharehouse . I can put it in & drive it back on by myself . No need to get the wife to Help If you know what I mean.Best thing I have for the boat , independence.

  8. Can I get some feedback if any one has used or got an Lowrance Elite 5 combo & how does it perform . I didnt want to go over the top but I have to update a 16 year old unit in 530F Haines . Has any one brought through singapore as there is an auction site that has them cheap. Adam

  9. Hit a spot given by fellow raider to try . First live squid hits water on to rat . DR dead next when it take off like a freight train with the 15kgs drag on the tynos 30 screaming to stop . No luck it slows once & snap on the bommie . Neat run I hook the bomb on the bommie & nearly lose the DR but in the panic I snap the backbone 15kg in half . The young bloke told his mother he learnt a few new words today . I then made a make shift to get by & got rat after rat . We then headed north to just off long bay headland & tried where I used to always get onto stipies when it is getting this warm. At least the youngster got his first couple of stripies for sushimi tonight . In the photo he was trying to hold it up when it was pumping hard in his arms , he nearly fell over .
