  1. :1fishing1: Finally got out with the kids as the wind wasnt bad and the swell was Ok . We didnt see any whales but trolled north from BB to maroubra & on the way back found a nice little school of Bonnies for the kids to let loose on . We had an hour or so of great fun on light gear & as you can see they had a ball as they will eat any fish as long as it is sushimi .My oldest was very excited to get this two headed or double on a lure . :1yikes:

  2. I eat those stripies shushimi . They are good even my kids love them . Make up some skewered with garlic , cucumber & natural yogurt dipping sauce on the BBQ . Not bad . They are all you get when you buy canned tuna ,but from Thailand . I know where I would rather eat it from . Hornets

  3. Good report Kit. I hit the Wide BB Fad for no luck .On the way back got a couple of stripies & got onboard a 700 mm tuna & I stuffed up my morning by letting it go when it was bleeding out in the well . My first stripies the season .Thank goodness it's the best I have ever seen the bonitos though .

  4. I know there are plenty of guys who have been hitting the kings in the bay at the moment & just wondering if a bit of info generally where they were getting the most action . We are hitting the fads first but always enjoy that king spot on the way back . Thanks Hornets :biggrin2:

  5. today with the southerly hit kurnell near the monument or along silver beach but it might be a bit windy . i had trouble yesterday only getting 1 there as the wind & current were quite strong . Would suggest some attractant for your jig & be patient they werent aggressive yesterday .Hope that helps .

  6. Had to get out there today as mates only leave pass .Hit south headland 600 for only 1 squid , 200mm hood . Yakkas were not keen as usual but managed dozen . Went out north from Cape Banks with 2 divers , one small skirt & one kingfish jet. Got 6 Bonnies ,One mac tuna . Went all the way to maroubra along the coast . All the damage was done on the bibbed . Got back into the heads where I was keen to use that squid . Set up the DR & hooked the squid in hopefully for the ride of his life . I set 1 hook to top of hood & a stinger into a tenticle as a security measure as I only had 1 . I started my run from 1end to the other of the oil wharf for the first for nothing but noticed a couple of marks there . Got onto the second over the mark when it got nailed , the run was 2-3 sec then as I got the rod out it slowed . I left it there for a couple , but nothing . I was spewing that was it . As I pulled it up the squid was still there , excellent !.I rerigged him very worse for wear but stil intact. Straight back over the same spot & it hit again & took off . As I put weight on to sloow the beast from the pilons he was off . I got the hook up to find he had hit the body the first time & now he nailed the head & the stinger mustnt have hooked him . That was it after that . It would have made my day to have gotten that on such a crap day . The swell was definately up today . Better than staying at home though . :ranting2:

  7. Now that is a huuuuge king for the bay or harbour . I can only dream of getting one that big in the bay . Congrads as it looks like you have done a lot of homework & the end result speaks for itself . Top effort

  8. Well done on your first. I was out today & got some bonito out at the heads & headed back to mol point to downrig . No luck so hit larpa out of the wind a bit & there were some huge tailor so maybe that was what you saw . They were huge ,my young boy got a 580 model . I picked up a couple of flatties on yakkas . They were swarming out there today .

  9. You are right , it is so much better than earth . The only thing is our privacy is getting less & less as council can see every little thing that changes in your home . Great for some one looking for a new boat to find at your home . Thanks Pete

  10. excellent on the dolly . I went to the 2nd fad off the bay for zippo . The water looked so good as well but the fad was dead . I did get smashed by something just before the fad that took the williamson garrie SP with a skirt I had in front of it . It ran for 5 secs then nothing but hook & skirt left. I couldnt even get a stripey on the way back . I only got 8 bonnies off maroubra sth & a horse of a salmon .

  11. We have friends that ended up there after travelling around Aus with a caravan . When they got up there the husband found a job fixing computers . They sold the van & the husband brought into a fishing boat & the wifr brought into a sail boat & they have been there for 2 years & dont look like returning for yet another year . Hope you have a great time there . I would love to hit that area for a trip .
