  1. There is a program called Fishing Buddy by Robert Benjamin. It is a fishing diary and looks pretty good. You can download a demo here fishing buddy You can record all the info necessary as well as pictures. If I fished often enough I would definitely use it. Hope you like it.
  2. Great report. I am now more excited about our trip. Good onya Coyote jumping in after your lure, Geoff did the first year we were up there we could see it just 6foot under. Well Stewy have a good look at that plate of food that's what I am expecting Hopefully we can supply a great report with plenty of pictures when we get back.
  3. We had a quick trip up the Nepean yesterday to test the sound. It works great. I couldn't resist and had to have a quick fish before the storm hit. I used a 30+ year old floppy the bass still love them. Caught a few small bass then high tailed it for home as the storm hit. I hate being in the boat in electrical storms.

    Ready to fish

Geoff finally fitted our new Humminbird sounder to the boat today ready for Glenbawn. Hopefully we will get time to test run it locally in the next week. Woohoo love new toys.
  5. Just saw on TV 6.0-magnitude quake in Bali at 11.16am local today.
  6. Well we finally decided on a sounder and picked it up on Sunday. After a lot of research I decided on a Humminbird 798cxi HD SI combo. With display Pixel 640V x 640H, 180deg side imaging and all its other features it's hard to beat. Can't wait until it is fitted so we can go out and try it.
  7. :1happybday: Have a great day. :1happybday:

  9. Glad everyone is OK. I saw that on the news that night.
  10. mmmmmm.....mmmm Last night Geoff smoked some tuna and cooked some on the bbq. Not being a huge fan of fish especially tuna I was surprised how good it tasted. I will be eating more
  11. Thank you for your ideas, I will try them.
  12. After filleting Geoff's tuna I wondered how am I suppose to cook it? I don't even like tuna! I cut it into steaks and figured Geoff can cook it on the bbq. I started wondering how else to cook it, I could make a tuna casserole but how do I prepare the tuna? We could also smoke some any suggestions on timber flavour? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you Lyn
  13. If you are giving away buttons willy nilly to you mates could I please have 'try hard' button? I try really hard to get Geoff to take me fishing. Seriously though, I think they are a great idea. Some people just need to find a hobby for all that spare time they spend complaining.Maybe fishing :074:
  14. Has anyone been watching Swamp People 7.30pm on 7mate? Last night they caught a Alligator Gar. The weirdest fish/alligator Ive ever seen. Here is a link of one caught years ago. My link

(it was worth the trip home lol) Once again great company, great bacon & egg breakfast. Can't wait till the next one. Thanks to Donna and Stewy for another great fishing experience.

  22. Once again we had a fabulous time at Glenbawn. We left a little later than the others and had a good trip and luckily missed the rain. We arrived to find Stewy, Johnno , Chris and Stephen had already left for a fish so we quickly unpacked and joined them. First we spotted Stewy and Johnno and as we approached Johnno hooked up on a nice fish. Stewy was very helpful on letting us know the colour of the day for the spinnerbaits (green) so we headed off. It wasn't long and I had boated 2 nice fish and Geoff caught up very quickly catching some great fish. Total of 6 fish on day 1. As the sun set we headed back to the ramp. Later back at the cabins over dinner we exchanged information on the day. Day 2 - we headed out on a beautiful morning Geoff caught his first Glenbawn yellowbelly. I cast into the back of a bay and got a wind knot in my braid and said to Geoff "I'll have to get rid of that before I cast again" as the words came out of my mouth the spinnerbait went into the mouth of a bass and snap lure gone the braid broke at the knot. I made up for it later catching my PB 42cm on a Bassman TW series spinnerbait purple red and gold #26. After having brunch with everyone at the cabins we took to the water again about 3pm. We fished till sunset and caught a total of 6 fish again. Day 3 - another nice day after a sleep in we headed out about 3pm. We went up a bit further into the dam and fished the eastern side in amongst the timber. We fished a couple of bays then headed over to the other side and fished the rock wall. We caught a total of 10 for the day. Last day of fishing and the wind was blowing. With jackets on we found a bay a little out of the wind and Geoff tried an old faithful jitterbug. Smack a hit immediately a nice bass almost swallowed the lure in one gulp. A couple more cast and another bass smacked the lure. By this stage I had had enough of the wind so I just sat back and took in the scenery while Geoff fished he ended up catching 4, me - zero. We didn't catch as many as the others but I bet we had as much fun. We are learning more and getting better each year. Thanks Stewy for inviting us once again. It was good getting together with you, Johnno, Steve, Chris and of course Geoff each night for dinner and to exchange the stories of the day. Donna you were missed, you will have to try and make it next year. Thanks to everyone for pitching in with the food and cooking. We had plenty to eat well done shoppers.
