  1. Well done Scatchie. You thoroughly deserve it mate. Your research and persistence paid off. Next ones mine. Ha
  2. Great report Scratchie. That's what it's all about mate. The next up and coming fishos and years of quality time with your loved ones doing what we love. Cheers mate
  3. Unlucky Noel but at least you heard your reel go off a couple times. Scratchie and myself would have killed to hear that sound. We trolled lures for 130klms for zeros. Scratchie, sounds like we needed to head a little further north to find that warmer water of 24 and up. We were probably a couple klms from it.
  4. Cracker red again Butch. Well done. 6-7 kgs??
  5. Thanks to you too Scratchie. Your a champion of a bloke also. Really enjoyed today. We were unlucky on the marlin bite but that's fishing. Thanks for all the marks and local knowledge.I'm really happy with the reds I got. Might be able to get out again before I go if I'm lucky. I'll let you know. Cheers.
  6. Hi guys Heading to Port in a couple weeks with the family. Will be doing a heap of fishing in the bay with the Mrs and kids. Want to target Jews hard in side and wanted to know where to get bait from. I normally get slimies/yakkas at Tomaree when i go outside but is there anywhere closer or south of the marina as that's the way I will be going? Also squid, I beleive Shoal Bay is the spot I think. Can anyone confirm? Or suggest anywhere else. I got a couple of Jews/ banjos/ hammerheads near the Ancorage marina last year so I'm starting with that as my Jewie spot. I hear Karuah bridges produce also. Thanks for reading and hopefully some info to share.
  7. Thanks for the info Butch. Mate appreciate it. I'm chasing kings this weekend the next trip is a snapper bash. I'll try find a good spot in 40 metres and work it hard. Cheers
  8. Hey Butch. Well done again mate. You are the Snapper king in my opinion. I've fished Longy hard over the last couple of years with limited success. Would you say you get results (good fish) most times you get out there? you've mentioned your technics publicly about a good berley trail and floating baits back which makes sense but I can't seem to crack any reds. Plenty of other non target species like wrasse and trevvas. Maybe it's specific spots but I do drift around abit also. I always start thinking Longy is over rated, then you put a report up and G me up again. Anyhow well done again. Pleasure reading your reports.
  9. Great news. Good to see there around. What time did you get them?
  10. Wow great effort. Which reefs run along the 75m mark off Sydney ?
  11. your the man Butch......Good luck tomorrow. Got a spare spot in the morning?? haha
  12. You've done it again Squizzy. I remember your previous reports and looks like you've found a magic hole that produces quality fish. You gave me some pointers last year but I'm yet to manage a port Stephens Jew. I lost one around the anchor rope but at least i saw it. Looked like a 75 cm fish. I caught heaps of different sharks in that spot and had some good runs without setting hooks. All on strip baits. I have not really tried live baits though. Anyway mate well done and great to see all the family getting involved.
  13. Wow. Cleaned up. Great effort
  14. Great info there BUTCH..... your a champion
  15. Hi mate. I also cleaned up on the flatties in 25 metres. Bagged out in 30 minutes and left them on the chew. All good size also
  16. Hi fellas Fished in close today chasing reds. Started out south of Jibbon bombie and drifting north. Current was perfect drifting lightly weighted baits and plastics along the bottom. Came across rats to 45cm then picked up my first red mowie to 55cm. Had some guys next to us pick up a snapper which looked around 2 kg so things were looking promising. My dads rod gets a bite and pulls up a just legal red. Pretty close to the bombie at this stage and start pulling lines in to move out a little and my rod buckles over and the drag is screaming. I get it out of the rod holder and all I could do is hold on. 30lbs braid-50lbs leader and I didn't have a chance. Got smoked big time. BUT this thing took me under rocks/ reef and snagged me up. Maybe a big Groper?? Anyhow couple little reef species and quite a bit of rain but a good day out. Good to get the boat wet. It's been 3weeks. Probably hittin Belambi next week. Snapper is on the menu. Cheers John
  17. Nice fish. The reds are starting to fire up. In close too by the looks of it.
  18. Good read. Nice fish mate
  19. Yiasou and welcome fat souvlaki. A few legal bream been coming out of there lately and a Jew on plastics the other day. Weather looking better in a couple of day so give it a shot.
  20. Keep getting them out there mate. Good times
  21. Good report to read Anfs. Well done on your catch also
  22. South of Sydney guys. Im not an expert as yet on these reds. This is the first decent fish in 15 outings. Got them pretty close in.
