Hi Raiders,
Happy new year to all! Took a mate out this morning who doesn't fish much and boy were the condtions great almost too good as we didn't seem to have any run in the water at all. The aim of the day was to fish light on the Western Side of the Harbour Bridge so the main targets were your usual Bream,Whiting, Flatties etc.. He was just happy to catch up for a laugh and a day out so we weren't too stressed on catching our bag limits and biguns on the sloppy end of town.
We fished with Bloodworms and Whitebait and I must say that I was surprised that we didn't land more Whiting..now we fished all my fav spots around the Parra River and landed in total 5 Whiting and 3 Bream.. We didn't countless drifts with the Whitebait with no keeper Flatties recorded?? Has anyone else had trouble raising a decent Flatty? Anyway he was stoked with the day and so was I! Now the reality of work kicks in and everytime I drive over the Bridge for work I'll be wishing I was underneath hooked onto that monster Jew
ps On our last drift just before we pulled stumps we got a nice little run, whilst I called for our first decent Flatty to my my surprise we pulled up a healthy looking Soapy measuring 50cm! Safely released to the depths for some more growing.. Tight Lines Sam
