hey raiders,thanks to everyone who attended the social for making it a great weekend for debbie and me. special thanks to donna & stew and the catering crew. some great posts,made me realise what a great weekend it was.Had some good fun beachfishing at night and had a relaxed fish in the lake with deb who was using plastics for the first time.caught &released a few small flatties between us.Thanks again to everyone.

best birthday for a while,a shimano c14 3000 from the misses and a great day fishing with a good mate and when smitty turned up with some filleting knives,ah well what can i say

i always get a good bag of flatties fishing on the last sandbank on the northern side at the mouth of the river. On a run in tide you should be able to see where the water runs over the sandbar and into a bit of a dropoff.I normally use squidgies(garry glitter or bloodworm). Ive also had good success on hard bodie lures that look like poddy mullet.I dont have a boat so we normally stay at The Bay of Plenty on the northern side.This gives me good access to the river and the beach which also fishes quite well for whiting using pippies and nippers.Hope you have a good trip.

sunday was my first fishraiders social day and will definately not be my last. what a great group of people, it was good to put faces to names. the wind was a bit of a letdown but nobody seemed to be whingeing about it and just got into the spirit of the day.congrats to all the winners,a good effort. i was really stoked about the gold membership and a little bit embarrased,because honestly i was just happy to help out Stewie and Donna. hope to meet more raiders in the near future,if not see ya next social day,cheers,Swano.

had a good morning fishing the georges river with Stewie.Good catching up with Mrs swordfisherman and Smithy again,who were off with us to target blackfish.We fished for a couple of hours up to high tide and about an hour of runout,using local weed we,d collected nearby.Only got to keep a couple of just legal fish,but we were kept fairly busy over the 3Hrs with many undersize fish. The morning finished on a good note when Stewie gave our couple of fish to an old fella who had to leave quickly so he could find his missus a toilet,the poor bugger had one keeper in his bag and only wanted one more before he had to go.Smithy bumped into a mate of his who had also got a couple of fish. Didnt take a feed home but had a mighty pleasant morning trying. cheers
