  1. Great report and some top fish to go with it.Sorry you missed the big EP, cause the one your holdings a cracker ! Sounds like you were really sad about missing school. Geez,Id have had trouble even getting to school with that sort of fishing close by. Without going into too much detail, where is your local area?
  2. Thanks for the comments boys. Not that hard to put up with stew,I just pretend I'm going deaf and say "AY" "WHAT" Deano
  3. A rundown on our long awaited New England 5 day cod trip. Unfortunately a few of the boys couldn't make it,so it was just Stew & me 9 and a bit hours later we reached our destination,There was a couple of lady anglers just leaving "THE COD ARE ON BOYS".(they fished clear water and no rain) Quickly unpacked and rigged up noting that the water was getting a bit murky from earlier rain upstream. Just about to walk to the river when the rain started,No worries, wet weather gear on and away we go. A few hundred casts and a couple of kilometres later, not one strike. Then the rain really started,3 inches of it. Headed back to the main pool at the Cabin before dark,in the distance I could see Stew skull dragging the smallest cod he'd ever caught, finally they might be coming on,as I also had a small hit on the spinner bait. But that was it. Back to the cabin for some tea. Totally soaked to the bone! After dinner dry clothes and surface lures, again the rain just kept coming, and again nothing, except a thorough drenching. Woke to rain the next day,and went for a quick fish in front of the cabin.Stew finally cracks it for a decent cod. Then nothing, except rain and a river rising before our eyes and getting dirtier by the minute. Drove to a new spot and fished it hard for a couple of hours, starting to get depressed, when WHACK my first ever cod. Finally the monkey of my back. Back to the cabin for lunch and get ready for the arvo session(nanna nap). Went out again but headed in the other direction for a couple of hard kilometres with only minimal breaks in the rain till we found another fishable spot,it was worth it cause I was on again, another cod, what a beautiful looking fish,no record breaker but I was stoked. Back to the cabin to eat, drink & dry out again. It poured down again over night and we woke to a river not far from breaking its banks and the colour of chocolate milk. Phoned the property owners who told us we could still get out another way as the bridge we came in on was under water.Still had 2 days to go,but decided to pull the plug, the fishing was over with still more rain to come. Although it put an end to my trip,I really enjoyed every minute of it,and the people up there really needed the rain.I think whoever gets to fish there when it all calms down are going to be yelling"THE COD ARE ON BOYS". Thanks again Stew for a great trip all the tips and some pretty good driving. Didn't have a photo of Stewies fish so here,s another
  4. Hey Stewie, About time you made it to the 1metre Jewie club Congrats mate, great fish, dont know if its just the pic but looks to be a really dark colour, Suppose you,ll want the big silver model off the beach now. Catch up with you soon, Deano
  5. AWESOME! What a great trip. I'd never done a lot of freshwater fishing before,so I did'nt really rate it. Boy did Glenbawn dam change my opinion. From the first strike on a spinnerbait on day 1,to the last fish caught in the dark on a surface lure, the whole trip was great. Just when I thought I had it all over these bass, I got smashed 3 times in a row with Stewy chuckling in the background,Told you Deano more drag. Scored some good PB's Bass- 44cm Yellowbelly- 49cm and a couple of bass on the surface. Thanks again Stewy for another fantastic trip, and a big shout out to Nathan & Ben for the great company and keeping me amused & bamboozled at the same time.(skunk?) Didnt have too many different photos to what Stew posted so I'll leave it at that. Cheers Deano

  15. Went blackfishing with Stewie & Pete(Tide'n Knots) on Sat morning. Arrived about 7.30 and Pete was already there fishing with his frozen weed, and he hadn't had a bite. We only gave him a little bit of stick over that as i unwrapped a bag of fresh weed & cabbage,I'd collected the previous day. Pete's eyes lit up as he grabbed some fresh weed as Stewie and I set up and made a berly mix. "Just got a down", yelled Pete. That was all it needed for Stewie to hit the water, and with his first cast proceeded to land a nice blackfish.(Freak) "1- Nil"was the call. From then on it was just a great day of mates joking and hanging shit on each other. We finished fishing at about 2.30pm with about 30 fish taken. Pete and I took a few each for a feed, and gave a couple away to a bloke we've met there before, All the others & the bigger ones were released. Thanks again boys for a great day! Fish of the day___ Stewie about 45cm Joke of the day__ Stewie again "Hey boys theres something wrong with my float" "whats wrong stew"with some concern. "Not sure, it keeps going under the water" Cheers Deano
