  1. hi dave, freshwater is good on the lures just around the rockpool all along the rocks. I usualy use 85 gramm raiders in all sorts of colors to be able to cast in the wind. best is before the southerly hits or a good wash is around with a easterly swell round 3ft. produces kings ,salmon ,tailor and bonito in the warmer months. luderick apeears often and can be cought on local weed. sme applies to black drummer . hang a prawn on a 8 kg line attached to tripplet hook under a bobby and the pigs are yours.usualy up to 6-8kg.what a feast good luck tom
  2. absolutely ,blackfishing is soooooo relaxing, better than bathing pilchards on the bottom on a 5kg sinker, this is the fine art of 2kg line and a furios fighter and how to land it over the wash onto a patch of weed. welcome mate
  3. yeh mate tryed yesterday at whale beach and the swell was quit bi from the south bit dangerous at the moment but will get better towards the weekend.,but anyway well donme and happy feed cheers fisho fantastico
  4. hi all, blackfish is around together with some nice Drummer around little head at whale beach. very fuzzy biters but use 2kg maxima and a longfloat. They are in good numbers after haevy burley and if you can manage to constant burley ,they stick around all day and feed. Average size around 35cm-40 so you in for a good session. Strangely they are all males. I dont know why.went home after a blissfull afternoon on a rising tide at 3pm with 4 keepers .The rest went back to fight on again. And what afeast on buttered blackfish fillets greetings fantastico
  5. hey all, went ,after long time and first time this winter to my fab 1 spot of the rocks at whalyfor some exiting blackfish session on wednesday. was i slight overcast day but i thougt i give it a shot anyway. not much cabbagge around these days and i had to scratch some rocks for some burley.tide was at the rise around 11am as i got my first strike and a 1.5 kg female full of eggs.well she went back to get a bit thicker for next year.after 3 odd hours or so i went home with 9 good size blackfish ,all males and they did not stopping hitting my cabbagge.the set was a simple rigg with a long feather float whitch i made myself of a pelican feather the other day .its very light and doesent spook the fish ,as they sometime intend to spit out as they feel resistance.they where in good numbers ,and inbetween i got struck by drummer as well a couple of times. well raiders ,was a good day and the barbie got hot in the end .what more can u ask for cheers tom
  6. elvis presley fish so called and wearing leather jackets all the time and the horn is there to stick it up well good eating anyway .or chinamen 6 spine without jacket.
  7. the north end of palm beach is productiv ,salmon and tailor are on pilchards on ganged 4/0 just in the gutters at high tide or early morning at sunrise have fun cheers guys
  8. went fishing at the opposite side on monday morning ,just cought a monster bream on salted tailor and one lousy boniton after spin ning for almost one hour .about 10 am got too wavy (3.5m)on a southerly .not very pleasant.but anyway the past two month where pretty good with lots of fish.the blackfish is back or at least i have seen them in good numbers while spearfishing last week. you never know ,whaly is always good for surprises .i fish there for many years .weekends are mostly crowded towards the beach ,but the point or the hole in the wall are spacy depends on what species you are after... have funn and catch one for me
  9. next time jump the boat and let me know as well ,i dont mind to kick someones ars for taking undersized fish .if everyone would do it there will be nothing left for generations to come.... i did a walk today at long reef platform (collaroy) and saw people fishing for all sizes of parot fish and some butchers nightmare .not that i would eat them but as answer to my question i got just the middle finger as the plate on the entrance says clearly something about marine park and no collecting signs,so what are they doing with sea urchins and collecting snails and other things in their bucket.... well i dont speak mandarin....but someone has to stop them i am getting realy agro with those idiots.... well done the kings anyway.good to hear that someone releases som big kings for insuring the next generation. again well done
  10. g'day all went yesterday out for the elusive king again. was spinning and had some garfish on a5/0 ganged hook. got some undersized kings all over the place and hitting allmost everything that floats even a piece of paper thet was floating in the wash from the nearby beach which was absolutely packt in the afternoon. later on got hookt on alonely salmon monstersize but lost him due to barnicels at the rocks and just 20 lbs braid. finaly got one king for dinner just 63cm but ready for the table.so no cheers tom
  11. unlicefisherys where checking northern beaches yesterday afternoon.they send some unlicenced fishers home with undersized kings. cheers tom
  12. marine biologist... no, we are not,but fishing and enjoy a nice day out is what we want as raiders, to get a fish is a benefit to your enjoyment! ok painted black, dont like your attitude at all, mabe you should stay clear of fishing and dont make us responsibile for your misfortune. overfishing is a global problem! mabe you should release some big ones to sporn again.i can see ,that after recent years, the kingfish as such has come back in good numbers and good sizes. i catch bonitos , kings, blackfish, bream, flathead, salmon, the odd snapper of barrenjoey and whale, i cant complain even if i go home without a catch i certainly had a nice day out.... think about it and try again and take a chill pill....................... exactly your opinnion
  13. try some garfish on a ganged hook 4/0 and cast them out but retrive slowly ,go to north head in the morning .i always find fish there. cheers tom
  14. hello raiders , went on friday to my fab1 spot again .arrived 5.30 and boy the wind was 30 knots NE and up to 4 m waves from the east. shit.. but i said to myself.at least try its almost low tide. been the day before to the fish markets to get some fresh garfish and i dont want to take them home again for the miss so i rigged up and trolled the whole shebang winding nice and slow................ B A N G ! first cast ,first hit ...it seems i found the resident. despite that i had to hang on to the rope as yhe waves came crushing in ,i managed to land Mr KING .nice 87 cm around 3 kg. so i rigged up again and found his family as well. all rats and so they went back. after just 90 minutes all my supply on garfish was shreddet and to get a lure out was sensless.i try to cast a 90 g blue rider ,as i had so much success the days before, but the strong northerly did not hasitate to make a big loop in my braid. i had some squid heads in my bait bucket from christmas spearfishing with my son marvin.so i got a 4/0 and send the stinky tentakel on its way. B A N G E R A N G . the bonito was also there.they feed on almost everything these days even squid i normaly use to tease kings. so after a good morning ,soaked wet with a 2king and 2 bonitos in the keeper i went to bakers delight for brekky. I got to say ,after the last years drought in the seas it was a good holiday fishing session this week.with more than plenty of fish. I had just one lousy king last year and even the miss was happy this time as i went out every morning at 3.30 am to fish.I have had sushimi king and bbq king, smoked bonito as well as thai fish cake. i for my part consider myself the lucky on this week. i hope you riders can understand that. cheers tom
  15. yeha... the livies get shreddet from the smaler ones . if you can try spinning on 20 pound braid black and 65g silver spinner with red eye. trust me they all yours...at least legal size and over and take it easy ..not to fast cranking and variable speed while the bonito takes just blue lures at the moment or other shit like pillies.. cheers tom
