  1. Awsome fish, bet your still on a high landing that beauty .

The trout from lake lyle are very nice eating too, they don,t seem to have that muddy taste through the flesh like oberon and other dams.

How many times you go fishing and seem to land the catch of the day as your first or last fish, maybe sun up and sun down is best chance of a trophy fish. B)

    Chris.

  2. Will agree they are a very tasty feed.

BUT i let them go or pass them to anyone who wants them as they can give you a very nasty sensation if stung...........Even when dead or you take the fish from the freezer the spines can stil inflict a nasty sensation.Best cure for pain is to submerse the sting on your hand etc into reasonably hot water until pain eases.

    Chris.

  3. At night look for areas that have shrimp or prawns in the system moving around. A bit of light on the water doesn,t deter them if anything probably helps as you can see ep,s popping the prawns off the surface.

Found they take all sorts of plastics and poppers at night and great fish to catch.

    Chris.

  4. Enjoyable weather to be out Dave.Fine table fish too.

I never knew those numb rays had teeth , i would of sent him on his way hook line and sinker.

Had three spikes off the red rock cods so far, can only imagine with those rays what the pain would be.

  5. Well done Dave, things we do as dedicated fisherman :depression::depression::depression: Have been in that situation many times saying i'll never do this again???????? But i do it again and again.

Well done mate and the trip payed off with a nice feed.

    Chris.

  6. Hi mate,

A larger rod 14ft will give you a big advantage in casting distance Plus your reel choice will make the difference too,a reel with a large deep spool is best.

your mono is fine i fish 40lb mono for more security with no problems on a old seamartin reel it casts miles with ease.

  7. Great going guys.

Would love to of seen the expressions on your faces after landing a trevalley of that size :1clap::1clap::1clap:

Hi every one, My Name is Anastasia and Im a new person to this site, Although I have been fishing with my Husband since the age of 20 years old I havent taken to boating but now my husband has a new engine I fell comfortable to be on the water and the et's seas sick tablet really do work as I get sick.

we left home at 12 midday after Chris met us at home and we loaded the boat with all the snacks and a couple of beers.

we headed south of Jibon point and down to another bombie were we got the Tailor, and trevaly, My fisrt time on some decent fish all my pbs.

we headed back to jibon point and got the rat king fish and yes that was my pb as well near side the cliffs just before the bommie and fished for squid the near the bommie for squid, I was nervous but my husband and chris assured me everything will be ok as we fished the drift away the bomie and away from it.

we kept Bringing up squid after squid, Ive never had so much fun and snags before, I caught my second squid the first been in Jervis bay and my husband says bring it in pointing toward you :1badmood: I got inked and quickly figured I got set up seen both of them laughing there heads off.

I had the day of my life and looking forward to many trips with my husband and soon chris's (pongrass) wife .

    Groper team,

What an entertaining fishing trip :sun:

    Made me chuckle non stop.

Started off with anostasia saying basil slow down your going toooooo fast,no hun i'm going as slow as i can BANG BANG BANG all the way to the fishing spot.(Sounded like my wife screaming)

Fishing time Basil, theres not much around today i can feel its one of those days :074::074: :074: THEN anostasia pulls in the first fish, couple more landed then she says i feel calamari are on???.So we changed to the jigs and went for a cast catching a feed easily,GO ANOSTASIA.

Really enjoyable trip,by the way basil your wife also caught the last fish of the trip too.

Look forward to another trip out soon

    Chris. :1fishing1:
