  1. Thats one big live bait tank there lol Nice fish but.
  2. Well done boys was there anymore in the trail ?
  3. Harbors like a chocolate milkshake with lots of rubbish.
  4. Although tomorrow is another day I was out today water filthy out to 60 fathoms and not to bad all the way out past Browns, the better water was probably in 70-80 fathoms but very quiet. Not much was happening on the radio and didn't hear anyone get any marlin. Couple of sharks on the mountain, no dollies at all today, did a bit over a 100 N miles for 2 striped tuna and a couple of gemmies, it was pretty disappointing but it was better than being at work. Goodluck to anyone heading out tomorrow but I'd say it will be very quiet. Cheers Steve
  5. Nice one. Id say if theres blues about might be some fin about to in the current. Might have to go for a run.
  6. I have the big brother 301e left hand on a Samaki 10-20lb rod spooled with 30lb braid. Great combo & great fun on dollies. Caught some big fish on it flicking metals around fads & traps.
  7. Funny that last week the kink was stacked up with bait but nothing under or around it.
  8. Very nice mate. Well done !!!
  9. Nice work mate. Tailor strips are gun bait on jews in that water.
  10. Dont be fooled I dont know many guys that can stand up in a boat with the drag locked up at 20 odd kilos and fight a fish without going over, I find 10 kilos of drag is hard especially fighting big fish for long periods of time.
  11. I have 2 fin nor reels 8500 & 9500 very good reels both have 600 metres of 80lb Berkley whiplash braid and top shot with mono fought some big sharks & tuna with them. Great value for money & prettu tough I like them.
  12. Cracking snapper mate, surely not off sydney was it ?
  13. I did a bit more reseach & found the 82B-35R, 65 to 110khz in a 2kw transducer is meant to blow the 587 away theres nothing worse than than your sounder dropping out when your in deeper water, its very annoying. Was kind of hoping a few game fishos mite have a similar set up to compare with. The 587 I have heard is meant to be a good unit but as you said they do lose pick up at certain depths unless your drifting
  14. Hey guys just wondering if anyone can shed some info on or has one of these units with a 1kw transducer, Im thinking of buying one of these or the fcv 295 but they don't make transom mount transducers in 2kw & I don't really want to go thru hull in my boat if I can help it. Most of my fishing is usually past the shelf Browns and beyond to Heatons, My Hds 8 works ok but drops out on the troll around 600mtrs so ultimately I want something that is capable of depths to atleast 1000 mtrs if at all achievable. I will keep the Hds8 for my plotter as its not a bad unit. I JUST WANT A GOOD SOUNDER NOW. Can anyone with experience help on this please ? Cheers Steve
  15. Mate I hate to burst your bubble but I would think if you hook a good sized SBT on that your going to be spooled in no time unless its a smallish fish, but I could be wrong lol GOOD LUCK THO
  16. It was quiet as a mouse off Sydney yesty went as far as Heatons didn't turn a reel only heard a couple of Albies caught near browns ill just wait a few more days till that water pushes in from JB.
  17. Very quiet with the recent weather but ill be trying to get out Thursday if its as good as its predicting. Cheers Steve
