  1. Top stuff mate, any chance you could share a pic of the lure you landed that beauty on ?
  2. Pitty there isnt a fine system in place to stop people doing this, i bet if we parked our car & trailer in the wrong spot gawwwdd help us I think 4 flat tyres & a nice note on those offenders who park in trailer sections would make them think twice
  3. I used to use the albright but have ditched that for the slim beauty i find it a heaps better knot, dosent get caught when u cast unlike the albright.
  4. Thats very strange i tow a 510 trailcraft with a 2006 forester (non turbo) without any probs at all.
  5. I have 2 saragosa 18000 reels one on a t-curve deep jig 400 & the other on a 7ft live fibre wilson spin rod & caught lots of fish, big dollies, jewies & kings nothing wrong with a t-curve.
  6. If only there were more people like you around the world would be a better place, your a champ
  7. Sounds like a red belly black there harmless but they do look scary dont they
  8. Ill 2nd that ive been catching heaps of them for bait collection on 15gr baitfish slug from ****** they work very well hardly miss a cast. Cant go wrong at 4bucks each
  9. Yep definately Toyota i had them all my life there great
  10. Correct me if im wrong but if you have a 50/200 transducer you can only switch between both but wont with 83/200 ( not 87 )you will need one or the other 50/200 or 83/200 if that makes sense
  11. Nigel if you dont mind me asking when you got your alluminium sheet etc did you get any specific type or grade of alluminium or was it just normal stuff ??
  12. If you dont mind me asking, how much extra weight is it on the boat & has it had any affect on balance of the boat in any way. It looks fantastic would love to do the same to my trailcraft, couldnt agree more about crappy bimini leaking etc plus the fact your more protected from rain & sea spray while heading out in chop or swell. Very nice mate very nice
  13. Are you serious 190cm mark they must be monters
  14. Just incase i thought id try again if anybody does have any first hand knowledge on the above thanks again ??
  15. Once you eat it im sure you will target them more often, good eating at that size mate good stuff, enjoy
  16. Gday guys i have a couple questions, i have a lowrance lcx 27c with a 1kw transducer but find when im out around browns or about 400mtrs trolling & beyond i dont get a good bootom reading & dont seem to pick up bait schools especially if theres a bit of swell, & i have been thinking of the hds 7 & fitting the existing 1kw transducer to that & having it just for the sonar & the lcx 27c for the map. Or would the hds 5 even be good for a sounder alone, they seem to be on par with eachother as far as the peak to peak power goes ? The only things is will it give me a better reading of the bottom out in these type of depths or will it still be the same. For those who have a hds 5, 7 or even the hds 8 how do you find it as far as picking up bottom & bait scools out in the deep water such as browns etc, i find with my lcx 27c its good as far as the shelf but when i swittch to 50 from 200 its not as good a picture. Cheers
  17. If you dont mind me asking what was your preffered bait ?
  18. We did'nt waste anything off that shark except the skin & bones etc thats not chewable, we filleted & cut it all up into steaks for eating & i must admit they are bloody good eating at that size. They are also a great game fish to fight on line & has your adrenalin going to the max when you have them boatside, thats why most game fisherman target them aswell as marlin & tuna etc etc.
  19. Nice mako guys well done, just wondering what some of you guys think or the best way to quickly ( if there is a quickly )dispatch makos when you have tired them on the rod, we sunk the fly gaff into one on sat & he managed to chew the rope so we struggled to tail tie him but eventualy did, then dragged him behind the boat for a while, at one stage we had him beside the boat & i thought if only we had a good club, rite between the eyes would have been the way to go. Im no expert so was just wondering what some of you more experienced guys do to kill the buggers if your taking them for eating as the one we got was about 120kgs & real good eating i must say, i think ill be looking for a good solid mallet or baseball bat to keep on the boat now
  20. An old saying goes; 1020 & the fish are plenty....

  22. Better still they should take him out to browns & give hime a tinny to row back with & see if he ever steals another boat, scumbag....
  23. I to would be intrested in doing the same with my trailcraft
