  1. try under the harbour bridge. lots of people are catching jews and kings at the moment. I didnt catch anything but i have seen people catching very big kings!
  2. This is a general rule for me, if something is too cheap without a reason, it probably lacks in quality. Also you have to give more description or a photo of the kayak that your talking about for people to give you more information. I can tell you that my friend brought a kayak from an online auction website for $500 (brand new). It doesnt perform very well and he ended up getting another kayak. thats $500 wasted. You cant even sell those kayaks because no one trust the brand.
  3. pretty much everywhere is good at the moment. big salmon and taylor are firing up. good luck
  4. hey Day fishing, i saw some rod with number 2 some with number 3 and some with number 5. what is the difference between the rods?
  5. do you know where i can collect live bait near by?
  6. Hey fellow raiders, I am very interested in fishing around the oil wharf at kurnell, because i heard it is a very good fishing spot. I was wondering, are we allowed to fish near or next to the oil wharf on a boat? the reason i ask is i am hoping to catch some yellowtail/squid/garfish for bait near the wharf. If we are not allowed to fish near the wharf, how far away do we need to be? and where do everyone collect their live bait when they fish at botany bay? Thanks for the help guys
  7. hey guys, i recently had a chat with a stranger about game fishing at rose bay. He told me the process of gaming fishing are as followed 1. collect live bait (slimy) 2. look for a certain temperature in the water because bait fish are there 3. run skip bait to make the bait fish swim towards the surface 4. run skirts to catch tuna and marlin that is roughly what i heard. Anyhow i am interested in game fishing and would like to know more details about the process of targeting king, tuna and marlin. 1.I would like the know temperature do you look for in the water? 2.How do you rig skip bait?, What is skip bait?, Is the skip bait trolled at a depth or at the surface? 3.If i been told the wrong stuff, how do you guys target tuna and how far do you go offshore? Thanks for the help
  8. under the como bridge is good. i heard there is jew there. use your fish finder to look for the deep channel there
  9. thats a decent squid, a triple gang hook shouldnt be a problem.
  10. isnt 1000 reel a bit to small for a 12ft rod? unless its 10 000? anyhow check with our sponsor purefishing they will hook you up with something nice! i think they have store in NZ too.
  11. i guess the question he wanted to ask is 80HP enough to make my boat fly
  12. congratz mate on your beautiful kingie!
  13. go to global tackle, they can spool the line for you. Just buy their bulk line and it can be spooled in 5mins and it is cheap too. no worries!!

  15. Thanks. we never asked anyone about what the noise was. still think it might possibily be a landslide.
  16. My girlfriend was really keen to learn how to fish and catch bonitos off the rocks. She asked me over the month to go, but i always had work to do and i never had time. And finally, i had time today to go fishing. We wanted to catch tailor at night, so we went to fish around 3am, but the weather was pretty bad. It started to rain heavily and we heard what seems to be a landslide. With no fish in sight we planned to go back to the car and sleep till the morning and see what happens from there. After 8.30am tide is going down, but it is so raining. We decided to give another go at the rocks to see if we could get some bonnies. I was teaching my girlfriend how to set the rod up how to cast and etc, but the whole day we did not catch one bonnie at all. Around 12pm our luck turned., i started to get my first trevally, and it was a quite decent size first too. Then a few minutes later my girlfriend hooked up as well and the best thing is hers was almost as big as mine. Throughout the day we kept catching trevs ranging from 33-37cm! It was really fun despite the fact that we were sunburn. it was her best fishing trip ever. We also landed a salmon together. it was a team effort. here is a photo of the trev we caught! and another one. We didnt take the picture of the salmon because we released it and forgot the take a picture.I do not really like the taste of salmon and releasing it to fight another day was just a win win situation.
  17. what is your definition of decent size? and where landbased are you fishing? the rocks or jetty? I use penn 950ssm + 10ft ugly stick, from memory you can get it for $130 the reel and $105 for the rod at a shop 30lb braid if you fish at the jetty, you can even use bream stick and 2500 reel to catch decent size fish. caught a decent size australian salmon but you needed the help of a net because you can lift it up. used slade 2500 and catana hope that helps for $400 you can get a stradic and a decent rod
  18. it is all about keep trying. Even when squid, is there, it takes them a long time to be interested in your jig. KEEP trying in places where people catch squids
  19. Where can you stop the 150g of fish per month rules? Can you eat fish that is caught in rose bay or double bay without the 150g per month rule??
  20. I heard that moonlight effect the way bream attacks the bait. what about squid? do they get shire from moonlight? thanks for your help

  22. I think its a Marlin! they go harder than a kingie and can make rod disappear very easily!
