Hey raiders We are keen to get a the best sounder/fish finder we can for a budget of about $300 At this stage we are just looking at getting a fish finder without GPS. Please give us some recommendations!! Also, Will it be best to just get it installed by a boat place?or would we be able to do it ourselves easily? Cheers!! Mark

Hey raiders, Yesterday took the recently bought kayak down to bobbin head to flick some small plastics around. Was keen to aim for some bream or flatties around some snags, something i'd never had any success with. Found a nice fallen tree upstream of bobbin so started flicking my 2inch shrimp right up against it. 2nd cast, gave it a few twitches then saw the light go tight, ended up with this nice flattie. I'm guessing he was around the 45cm mark judging by the size of my shoe. Was such a good feeling to finally get a fish from fishing into some snags. Then came the fun part of landing him without a net or anything, ended up paddling one handed over to a nearby jetty which was not easy in the strong winds! Can't wait to get back out there Mark

ah well at least there were some fish around!have caught a few of those crabs lately, they seem to be out in numbers! Sucks about the flattie! Hiles

I have a pflueger trion 4-7kg baitcaster rod but don't have a baitcaster reel to match with it I only want to spend around $100 on a reel and am keen for some advice on what to get please. I will be chasing kingies, snapper, salmon, big flathead etc. Could be hard with that price range but hopefully there's something decent out there for me. Thanks!!!

Hey guys I'm keen to buy a rod for soft plasticing that is somewhere around 5-10 kg. I want one atleast 6 foot and preferably 2 piece. But the biggest thing is I'm keen to only spend about $100. Hey guys was plasticing yesterday across main channel of middle harbour and caught what looked a little bit like a flathead crossed with sergeant baker. Its body was orange and it had large back fins and a few long stringy fins. But it had awesome colours on its wings/side fins. From memory it was a dark blue or black with light blue spots and some other streaks of colour across the wings/side fins. It also made a weird blurting noise I'm sure plenty of people know what this fish is and I'd love to know! No picture sorry! Thanks guys Hiles
