  1. hey mate they were doing pylon replacement stuff when I went last week so it might be best to check it out and see if they are still there...If not, there's often good trevally there as well as plenty of yakkas for live baiting. Chuck some berley down and the fish should be there very quickly cheers Hiles
  2. north narrabeen near where lake meets the sea has been productive for us pretty consistently. Hope u go well! Hiles
  3. Hey raiders Headed down to balmoral around midday to discover they were re-doing the pilons or something!A bit dissapointed, we headed to clifton gardens for our first time there. Was a bit slow but ended up with a few nice trevalley, the biggest going 45cm, and the smaller going 36cm. Was great fun on my 4lb outfit!! Floating pillies seemed to do the trick. Was enough to have us planning to return very soon! Cheers Hiles

I can answer the live bait question...west head is the prime spot for livies. Either use live bait jigs or just some tiny hooks with bread. Burley up alot too. As for the rest of the info, I look forward to what others have to say! Cheers Hiles
  10. Hey mate We have had plenty of success up towards the lake end of narra beach, within a few hundred metres of where the lake meets the sea, so that's probably a good spot to go. However i think there's plenty of gutters all along the beach which could be just as good Cheers Hiles

  12. bought my first popper yesterday and had a flick over the narrabeen lake flats, plenty of smallish whiting were chasing it. However i was casting over schools of larger fish and tey didnt seem too interested. But there are plenty of whiting in there to hook up on. Hiles
  13. yeah we fished just where the flats drop off, about 100m up from the bridge towards beach end of the lake. Seems like a great spot!! Hiles

    Live Bait Tank

Hey Raiders I am keen to make a cheap but decent live bait tank for our tinny boat, so will need to make it not too large. Just wondering if anyone has any good ideas about how to make one cheap?or if anyone has any good links to sites or books showing a good method of making one. Thanks in advance! Hiles

  17. Hi raiders I am keen to get a kayak for fishing mainly rivers/calm waterways. I am hoping to not spend any more than $500 which probably limits options quite a bit but oh well. Does anyone have any suggestions for kayaks which are great for fishing and under this price? Any help would be much appreciated Thanks! Hiles

  19. Great stuff!I often go down to bobbin head but have only ever caught little fellas. Went down on friday to apple tree and saw masses of baitfish and the occasional bust up from tailor or salmon, tried to get me surface lure out there but just couldnt reach them. Where abouts are the flats you were fishing at Bobbin Head?I've been heaps keen to get into whiting fishing with surface lures! Cheers Hiles
